ANGELS

ANGELS IN THE KING JAMES BIBLE

There are a lot of false teachings about angels. Many teach that they are sexless beings with wings but the King James bible lets us know that is not true.

Revelation 1:20 shows angels are often referred to as "stars" in the bible.

Revelation 1:20  The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven STARS are the ANGELS of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

Revelation 12:4  And his(satan) tail drew the third part of the STARS of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

Job 38 calls the angels "morning stars" and "sons of God." These verses also let us know that angels were here before man was created.

Job 38:6  Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
Job 38:7  When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

The angels which left their first estate(Jude 1:6) had sexual relations with female humans. This produced giants and was one of the reasons God brought the flood. (Genesis 6)

Even though they we're here before man they are still created beings. The below verse lets us know that they were created by God.

Colossians 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

The bible never says angels have wings. Cherubim and seraphim have wings but not angels.

Isaiah 6:2  Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

Exodus 25:20  And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.

Female devils are said to have wings in Zechariah 5:9. You can tell these are devils by the context. Unclean birds(storks) are also pictures of unclean spirits.

Zechariah 5:9  Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.

Three angels came to meet Abraham in Genesis 18 and the bible calls them "men."

Genesis 18:2  And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

When the angels came to Lot's house the sodomites desired to "know" them. The sodomites called these angels "men."

Genesis 19:5  And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

The bible makes it clear that angels are males without wings.

Revelation 21:17  And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

They look so much like men that when they appear you can't tell the difference between them and a regular man. That is why you can entertain angels unaware! If the angels are sexless beings with wings than you wouldn't be able to entertain them unaware.

Hebrews 13:2  Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

The angels of God IN HEAVEN neither marry nor are given in marriage because they are all MALE. It is the angels which left their first estate(Jude 1:6) that took wives for themselves. (Genesis 6)

Matthew 22:30  For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Angels can take on physical reality and even eat!

Genesis 18:8  And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

Angels have a freewill and can sin against God.
2 Peter 2:4  For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

The angels which left their first estate(Jude 1:6) will be judged at the great white throne judgment by us.
1 Corinthians 6:3
 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
